How to use newsletter credits

You get monthly newsletter sending credits with your plan. If you need more, you can easily buy extra newsletter credits. Here is how

With a subscription plan for your website, you get an amount of sending newsletters included. More specifically, Starter Plan includes 2,000 emails per month to send newsletters to your members. Of course you may need to send more than this amount in a month. In Synaps Media, it's very easy and affordable to sending more newsletters with Newsletter Credits.

To add more, go to your Synaps Media Panel (panel.synapsmedia.com) and pick your website. You'll able to see current status of usage for the newsletters.

Click "Newsletter Credits". It will open details dialog that you can see a more detailed list of your current credits and your usage history. Click "Buy Credits".

Pick the packet amount you want to buy, and click "Go to Payment". You will be redirected to payment page. If you want, you can increase the quantity of the pack up to 10 in a single payment. After making payment, the amount of credits will be added to your account.

Can I use Extra Newsletter Credits on my multiple websites?

Yes. Extra Newsletter Credits are added and used for all of your websites in same account. It's a shared amount for all of your websites.

Is there a time limit to use Extra Credits?

Unused extra credits will expire after 1 year of buying it.

How does spending credits work if I have multiple websites running on Synaps Media?

When you send newsletter from your websites, you'll first use your monthly credits specific to that website. After you spend all the monthly amount, continues newsletter emails will be sent by using your extra credits. For example; if you have 3 websites published on Synaps Media, every website will have a monthly credits from their plans (2,000 with Starter Plan). If a website sends more than 2,000 emails in a monthly billing cycle, excessive amount will be reduced from your extra credits, if you have any.

What happens if I get run out of my newsletter credits?

If you do not have sufficient credits to send a newsletter for your website, your post will still be published; however, the newsletter will not be delivered. You will be notified of this issue via an automated email, and it will also be reflected on your newsletter analytics page in Ghost Admin.

For example, if you have 800 members but only 500 credits, Ghost will not proceed with a partial send. Instead, the newsletter delivery will fail entirely. Ghost will continue attempting to send the newsletter in the background. Once you purchase the required credits, the newsletter will be sent. If Ghost eventually ceases its attempts, an error message will appear in your Ghost Admin post list, allowing you to retry sending the newsletter from there.

Can I use monthly credits of a website on another website?

No, monthly credits included in your plan are tied exclusively to each individual website and cannot be shared across sites. Only additional newsletter credits purchased separately are account-wide and can be used across all your websites hosted on Synaps Media.

What happens if I don't use all of my monthly credits?

Unused monthly credits will expire at the end of monthly billing cycle of that website.

What does monthly billing cycle mean?

Even if you pay annually for your Synaps Media subscription, the usage and limits of certain resources are still calculated on a monthly basis, following monthly billing cycles. Your monthly billing cycle begins on the date you start your subscription and ends on the same calendar date the following month, continuing in this pattern. For example, if your subscription starts on March 21st, each cycle will commence on the 21st of the month and conclude at the end of the 20th of the next month.
