Ghost 6.0 is officially released today and all Synaps Media customers get it right away!
Today is the big day for Ghost community. 6th major version officially released today. And in the same day, all of the Synaps Media sites are upgraded to v6 automatically.

But, I want to highlight 2 big features for you.
Social Web
You are already familiar with Social Web feature because it's running on Synaps Media sites behind a toggle since the beginning of June. Now, Social Web is a stable feature of Ghost with many more fixes and improvements. With Social Web feature, you are able to open up your content to decentralized Social Media platforms like Mastodon, Bluesky, Threads, Pixelfed as well as other long-form platforms implemented ActivityPub protocol, like WordPress.
In addition to automatically sharing your articles to those platforms, now you can also share short-form posts (named Notes) just for those Social Web. This allows you to publish quick updates easily. Also you are able to follow others, like, re-post their notes, reply them or answer others messages like in a regular social media platform, right in your Ghost Admin.
Web Analytics
Until now, Ghost publishers were only able to get insights about their e-mail newsletters. If you want to get insights about your web site visitors, you would need to use an external tool like Google Analytics or Plausible. But now this is changed. With Ghost 6.0, you have built-in, privacy friendly visitor insights.
This is important because Ghost is not only a newsletter tool. Many people use it as their main website and value web traffic other than newsletter readers. And free analytics tools like Google Analytics is not privacy friendly and so complicated, or privacy friendly, simple solutions (like Plausible) costs more. Now, with built-in analytics feature in Ghost, you don't even need to think about those all.
